There's an old saying. If you don't want someone to join a crowd, you ask them, "If everyone were jumping off of a cliff, would you?" Well, I have. So my answer would be "Yes". True story.

Things to be Thankful About This Year

this entry brought to you by sons and daughters, "medicine"

Every year when it comes to the holidays, people often dedicate a blog entry to the things they're thankful for, which inevitably end up being things like family and good tidings and all that. We all know that I'm thankful for my family and good food. But those are kind of things that I'm selfishly thankful for. But what about the bigger picture? What should we all be thankful for?

* The polar ice caps are currently melting at an "astronomical" rate; they're not yet melting at a "fucking astronomical" rate.

* Although record stores are obsolete and are quickly disappearing, there's still a little bit of time for lonely music nerds to fall in love with the girl that works there.

* The Democrats are undoubtedly going to win the next election, and when they do, there might eventually be some changes, probably.

* Britney Spears is still fucking crazy. We can probably get a good nine more months of insanity filled amusement before she literally explodes and leaves behind a foul smelling ooze of some sort.

* Lindsay Lohan is still fucking crazy. Yet she does not look awful, like Britney Spears. This benefits everyone.

* Canada still hasn't built a wall around its country, despite how crazy things have gotten. Also, their dollar is suddenly almost as solid as our own. Something to think about.

* No matter how bad the environment gets, there's still plenty of porn to quench our thirsts.

a few days ago, last year THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS! GIANT DRAG! THE PS3 AND WII! ELECTION STUFF! on last year's POLARITY!

the day after, last year if you live your life constantly paranoid, and then celebrate when things don't go wrong, you'll always be happy.

the day after, last year it's just a bunch of links to other great entries, but that in itself makes it worth reading if you haven't read those links.

on this day last year describing a joke i was going to do isn't as funny as actually doing it, but i didn't have time to do it properly.
