A Few Words About Barack Obama

Right now, I'm not really a Barack Obama guy. If he gets nominated for the Democratic Party, I'll of course vote for him during the general election-- I'd vote for any Democrat, really, no matter who gets nominated. I think Obama's a good man, and part of me wonders if he's exactly what the country needs. But I do think he's a little too moderate for my tastes, and I also am worried about his youth and inexperience.

But I don't want to go on and on about his apparent slights as a presidential candidate. What I want to talk about are the certain black contituents that feel Barack Obama isn't "black enough" and won't support him because of it. Jesse Jackson himself even criticized Obama for "acting like a white man".

Let me see if I can word this succinctly enough...

Fuck you a million times.

No, seriously. Go fuck yourselves. Get out of my sight, and go fuck yourselves. From a black perspective, for hundreds of years the problem with the government has been that they could never really relate with the black man enough, and there has never been anyone who could be 100% relied on to stick up for them when it got to the bottom line, when it got to the issues that really mattered. And here is that very man, the man who, more than any other politician, more than any other black man in the history of America who could relate to more and understand more the plight of the American Black Man and Woman and be in a position to make sure that their needs were to be addressed, and for these people, god forbid, he's not black enough. Go to hell. You will never be happy with any situation ever, you will always be a victim, you are doing nothing but dragging the rest of us down. Please go away and don't expect for the rest of us to look over our shoulders at you when you do.

Maybe Obama didn't grow up in the ghetto, selling crack and dreaming of one day of having a promising rap career, and maybe he has grown up well-to-do enough that he never had anyone call him "Nigger" to his face. But I guarantee that there was a day when Obama walked into a restaurant and the people at the next table over whispered and pointed and asked for their check as soon as they possibly could because of the color of his skin. He is black enough. And if that's not good enough for you, well, go fuck yourself. America didn't need your vote anyway.
