I knew a guy who was a pathological liar, and he once regaled me with the story of how he tried to stop an armed robbery at a convenience store the previous night, and I just stood there nodding, uh-huh, sure. The day afterwards, there was a story in the newspaper about him trying to stop this armed robbery, and I still didn't believe it.
