There's an old saying. If you don't want someone to join a crowd, you ask them, "If everyone were jumping off of a cliff, would you?" Well, I have. So my answer would be "Yes". True story.

Hypothetical Question About A Post Apocalyptic World
with love from CRS @ 2:24 PM
this entry brought to you by foo fighters, "wind up"
You live in a post apocalyptic, The Road type world, or perhaps a post zombie apocalypse, where all the zombies have died out. You have a group of seven people including yourself, but you are running very, very low on ammunition for your weapons. You've befriended a group of seven people who are all very well armed, but trust you.
It's time for you to go your separate ways, and you find two unoccupied underground bunkers that are miles apart-- much too far to easily transfer one to the other. One is filled with enough food and water to last your entire group for two years. The other is filled with enough medical supplies and water to last your entire group for two years.
It is currently October, and winter will be fast approaching. If you choose the medical supplies, you will have to hunt for your food, and during the winter your pickings will be much slimmer. On the other hand, if you choose the food, if anyone gets sick, they're much more likely to die without medical supplies. Also, the group that you've befriended is much better armed than your group, so betraying them and trying to take both won't work.
Both groups have members ranging between 17 and 45, and there is one child below the age of nine in your group, and a pregnant woman in the other. Which do you choose?
