I wanted to see what everyone at work said about me behind my back, so I came to work yesterday pretending to have suddenly lost my hearing from some freak accident or something. But all anybody said was "Gosh, I hope Chris is okay," and "Do you think he'll get his hearing back?" I got so annoyed that my plan had backfired that I told them all it was an evolutionary miracle and I had got my hearing back. You'd think that their happiness at my sudden getting better would warm my heart, but it did not.
