I hate guns. Completely. Utterly. I don't think anyone should have them, I don't care if they just use them for hunting or what have you. I absolutely despise them.

Now, that's my personal feelings. I understand that, logically, we're way past the point to be able to ban guns, and I understand that people like to hunt as a hobby and while I do have a personal problem with that, I don't have a problem with it as a political issue. Politically, I don't necessarily feel like a gun ban would even be something that could even be debated. But personally, I wish they'd never been invented and I think that people that like guns have a personality defect.

Whenever this comes up and there's a gun lover around, they always go to the exact same question, as if it makes any sense: "Well Chris, what if someone came in your house and raped your wife and your 7 year old daughter? Wouldn't you want to have a gun then? Huh? Wouldn't you? What would you do if you didn't have a gun? Hmmmmm?"

I'd tell you what I'd do. I'd stand there and say "C'mon, stop raping my wife! Plleeaaaaaase! Oh gosh, you're such a big fat jerk! Stop raping my wife! Stop it! C'mooonnnnnnn!"

...Of course I would wish I had a gun. Of course. And if I did happen to have a gun, of course I'd shoot him.

But let me ask you a question.

Let's say your son or whomever loved one you live with woke up in the middle of the night, decided to go take a walk around the block in the nice cool breeze. Comes home, realizes they locked themselves out, and, not wanting to wake you, comes in through the window. In the process you hear this, grab your gun, and shoot them.

Is the first thing you're going to think "Well, I'm still glad I own a gun!" Or is it going to be something like "Oh god! I just shot my son!"
