this entry brought to you by dntel, "you rock my boat"

Pitchfork Media, an esteemed music website that focuses on the "indie" scene, has announced it's much-anticipated 50 Best Albums of the year. Among the top ten were perrenial favorites such as M.I.A, Spoon, and LCD Soundsystem, but receiving the highest accolade for 2007 was Random Beep Generator's Test Session AF1780#P. "To listen to Session AF1780#P is to be thrust inside a world whose blurred dimensions are marked by hisses, crackles, and indeterminate beeps somewhere in the distance," wrote Pitchfork editor John Robertson of the album, describing it as "cold" and "unfeeling" but added that ultimately, the random beeps "remind one of the unrelenting chaos of humanity, and consequently make the listener feel more alive."

Dr. Ron Dodson of MIT, the artist behind Random Beep Generator, described his album as "an algorhythmic program designed to measure how long our powerful supercomputers can create a string of random intermittent sounds without creating a pattern," and said that his motivation for his artistic output as "purely scientific". Dodson went on to say that while he did not expect any of his sessions to become album of the year by any music outlet, he felt proud to be the creator of such a revered album, adding, "If you thought Session AF1780#P was good, you should hear Sessions RW9789#X.L0 through RY0027#B.03!"
