There's an old saying. If you don't want someone to join a crowd, you ask them, "If everyone were jumping off of a cliff, would you?" Well, I have. So my answer would be "Yes". True story.

this entry brought to you by placebo, "infra-red"

Listen, I might be a lifelong Republican-- Mama raised me Republican, and I'll die Republican-- but just because I vote a particular way doesn't mean I always agree with the President on everything. I'll be the first to criticize him on those people being flooded or whatever down south whenever that was. And this thing that's going on in Iraq, I don't pay too much attention, but I admit it seems maybe just a little misplanned. And the torture thing, I'm kind of a fence sitter. I mean, only 3% at most of prisoners being tortured for information have died from it, and if it means saving American lives, well, maybe we should stoop to their level-- but I'm still kind of iffy on it. And holding Americans under the Patriot Act without cause for indeterminate amount of time, well, if I were President, maybe I'd handle that a little differently. And spying on the American people, well, I have nothing to hide-- well, a little-- but if it was a lot, maybe I'd be a little nervous. And this whole getting rid of a free Internet, I don't use it myself, but all of my various assistants and staff say it's very helpful, whatever it is, so maybe I'm not 100% on the level there. And I used to hate homosexuals, that is, until my daughter came out of the closet, so I don't quite see eye-to-eye there.

But when I hear all these liberals whining "George Bush is a bad man," or "Damn George Bush's evil black heart," or "George Bush is Satan incarnate," or "George Bush is the the worst President ever," or "George Bush is a murderer because his illegal war was unjustified and based on misinformation", I can't believe my ears. I say phooey on those people. Listen, I met George Bush two or three times. And I can tell you definitively in these brief encounters where the President was on his best behavior because he was trying to impress and shmooze with billionaire campaign donors like myself, that he is a decent fellow. Sure, maybe he'd never worked a day in his life-- neither have I! But the point is, he loves Jesus, his Mama, and the Dallas Cowboys, in that order, and because of this, we hit it off like old army buddies in the two minute conversations I've had with him. I know in my heart that he's a good, honest man. He even let me sleep in the Lincoln bedroom after I gave him only a couple hundred thousand dollars!
