I was talking with a friend of mine who is mixed, and she was telling me how she, too, has been told by black people that she doesn't act black enough. I, of course, have gotten the same thing. And I thought, you know, I only ever had my mom growing up, so it's natural that I act like her. And she is black. So really, I act as black as I know how.
