Your Own Rock and Roll Super Group
this entry brought to you by nine inch nails, "sun spot"
Here's a game I like to play. Yes, I stole it from SPIN, but that makes it no less fun. You have to make your own super-band, consisting of one of the following: lead vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. You have to take each member from a pre-existing band, and they have to play the instrument they played in that band. Each person cannot play more than one part. For example, if your favorite singer is Billy Corgan, then he would sing in the band, not play guitar. You cannot use two members from the same band. For example, you can't have Thom Yorke on vocals and Phil Selway on drums, because that would just be Radiohead with a couple different members. You cannot use any of the following: Eric Clapton or Jimmi Hendrix on guitar, Les Claypool on bass, or John Bonham on drums. That would be too easy, and besides, this is supposed to be a super group, not a god group. To top it off, you have to make it work.
My picks: Maynard James Keenan (from Tool) on vocals, Jack White on guitar, Lou Barlow (Folk Implosion, Sebadoh) on bass, and Dave Grohl on drums. Yes, Jack White on guitar would be a little weird with Maynard on vocals, but I think it would work.
