There's an old saying. If you don't want someone to join a crowd, you ask them, "If everyone were jumping off of a cliff, would you?" Well, I have. So my answer would be "Yes". True story.

this entry brought to you by the streets, "geezers need excitement"

As I write this, my body is tired and exhausted. The reason this and yesterday's entries were written pretty late are because I haven't been able to get to sleep on time, but what started this string of sleeplessness was Monday night which saw me laying awake in bed, thinking about November 2nd. It was a week and a day before the election, and all I could think about was what if George Bush wins? I was up for hours past my usual bedtime. When I tell you that George Bush winning the next election scares me, I am not kidding. I laid there, scenarios playing themselves in my head. War. A torn economy. Cynical politics. Bullshit lies on top of bullshit lies and no serious talks about impeachment despite a laundry list of serious crimes. North Korea taking advantage of our thinned out military and making a devastating strike. Iran taking advantage of that strike and making a devastating strike of themselves. A world war. Nuclear disaster. And an administration with its blood sucking fangs so deeply gripped in America that no amount of burning will get it out. An administration that made it so that it would never have to leave office, or worse, even be bothered with something as silly as an election.

I think the worst part about these visions, and the part that probably kept me up the most was that these weren't just scenarios from my imagination running wild. These were honest-to-God probabilities.

But you know, I honestly have faith in America. I think the rest of the Democrats in the country feel the same way. And if they don't-- may God be with us all.
